CULPAS Y MEMORIAS EN LAS MODERNIDADES LOCALES (BALBUCEOS FRAGMENTARIOS SO PRETEXTO DE “EL FLÂNEUR” DE WALTER BENJAMIN)
Hugo Achugar
ABSTRACT
This paper reflects on the importance of the experience of speed in current society. The experience of speed is a kind of horizontal cross-sectionality that unites our countries regardless of the heterogeneticity of their historical and cultural backgrounds. Speed is understood both as rapid physical movement and as social propensity to change and acceptance of what is new and different. Speed characterises postmodern times in a peculiar way. It is a contemporary distinction, in the Bourdian sense of "distinction", implying both inclusion and exclusion.
