La Universidad de Barcelona exhibe dos conjuntos artísticos que representan humanistas e instituciones del conocimiento. Se creó una galería de estatuas y otra de pinturas al construir su edificio histórico entre 1863 y 1884. Estos repertorios constituyen un canon monumental. El estudio de su proceso ilustra los conceptos de corpus y canon en la historiografía lingüística. Y relaciona la historia de la lingüística con el proceso de creación de sus cánones o paradigmas y con el rol de la universidad como institución.

Linguistic historiography and the monumental canon of the University of Barcelona.
The University of Barcelona exhibits two artistic repertoires of humanistic and knowledge institutions. A gallery of statues and paintings was created when the historic building was erected between 1863 and 1884. These artworks are a monumental canon. The study of its process illustrates the concepts of corpus and canon in linguistic historiography. And it relates the history of linguistics in the process of building its canons or paradigms and to the role of the university as institution.
