The following article looks at how reading certain authors, who Queneau himself quotes, influenced his work. Queneau was an avid reader, which is amply demonstrated if we consider his Journaux. He is influenced by amongst others, Homer, Rabelais, Jarry and the American writer, Faulkner, which also shows his knowledge of the English language.
